Thank you for all of those who have been a part of Ja’Nylah’s Youth of the Year journey! At just 16, Ja’Nylah was our first girl to make it to the California State Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year Competition. After advancing as the top 3 competitors in the NorCal finals in March, Ja’Nylah and the eight other California State Youth of the Year competitors went to the California State Capitol, met with their State Legislative leaders and lobbied for more funding for Boys & Girls Clubs.

After sharing her story to many people about her life’s struggles and how the Alameda Boys & Girls Club has helped transform her into a resilient and driven hard-worker, as well as an advocate for helping her peers succeed, we could not be more proud of Ja’Nylah’s achievements!

Currently, Ja’Nylah holds an internship in the Physical Therapy/Rehab department at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, and is also active on her High School’s cheerleading team and as the leader of the Mighty Missy’s Girls Group at the Club.
