Recording Studio Coordinator

Classification:  Part-time (8-12 hours/week)
Reports to: Program Director
Primary Function: 
The Alameda Boys & Girls Club is seeking candidates to run the recording studio and teach teens about lyricism and sound production.
Key Responsibilities: 
• Provide recording engineering services on recording sessions including tracking, editing, mixing for music projects.
• Creating and editing artist recordings, setting up equipment in studio.
•  A good understanding of microphones, signal flow, studio recording, and audio effects.
• Develop program marketing materials.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members.
•  Evaluative program participation and achievement of goals, using appropriate data-tracking systems and recommending modifications to improve program performance as needed. To include conducting, monitoring, and accessing teen interest surveys and input to obtain and maintain effective programming.
• Ensure a productive and effective work environment.
•  Monitor program areas to ensure member safety.
• Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdown of daily participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems/issues.
In addition to the specific professional job duties, must also possess the ability to:
•  Be passionate about working with teens.
• Be comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
• Work effectively with volunteers, parents, school officials, and other community members.
• Represent the Club positively in the community.
• Should be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Continue personal and professional growth by participating in trainings/classes.
• Prioritize assignments.
• Ability to work independently and monitor own performance objectives.
• Be a team player.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least one year’s experience working with teens.
  • Knowledge of sound engineering, editing, mixing
  • Effectively use Microsoft Work, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to successfully pass a DOJ fingerprint clearance and criminal background check.
