When you volunteer at the Alameda Boys & Girls Club, you make a difference in the lives of our youth members while giving back to our community as a whole. Within the first few minutes of walking into a Club, you know you’re in a special place. Whether you help with homework, coach a game or teach an art project, you’ll have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with young people eager for adult mentorship, and have a positive impact on their futures. In turn, you will find that spending time with these young people has a positive impact on you as well.
*Please note: All volunteers must be over the age of 18 and out of high school. All volunteers working directly with our youth must complete and pass a Live Scan background check prior to volunteering. Please review our ClubSafety Policies found here.
Volunteer as an Individual
We're always looking for local leaders to help mentor our youth, or help out with caring for our Club and Garden. Please note that individual volunteer opportunities may not always be available, and that all volunteers are required to pass a Live Scan background check prior to volunteering.
Host an employee volunteer activity with our youth* or at our facility (i.e. in our garden) and give back to Alameda's future leaders while enjoying team building at our beautiful Club! Many of our group volunteer opportunities are focused on Club or garden beautification, as our focus on Club safety for our youth requires limiting non-Club employees from interacting with our members.
